Kaufland e-commerce is looking for an Engineering Manager to build, develop, and enable high-performing product teams. You'll start with hands-on technical tasks to understand our infrastructure before taking on full managerial responsibilities. This is an entry-level position in our Engineering Management career path within a Tech & Product Team of about 400 experts.
What You'll Do
- Build the right team, remove roadblocks, create transparency, and ensure alignment.
- Be responsible for the engineers of 1-3 product teams in a you-build-it-you-run-it environment.
- Contribute hands-on to a certain percentage of your time depending on team size.
- Help engineers grow personally and professionally by advancing their skills and inspiring them through purpose.
- Ensure the leverage of technology within product teams to build products customers love.
- Be responsible for product delivery while balancing time, budget, and quality.
- Contribute to strategic initiatives larger than your team(s), such as raising the engineering bar and improving guidelines.
What We're Looking For
- Vast experience in engineering scalable web applications within cross-functional product teams.
- Experience as an Engineering Manager solving engineering problems with appropriate tools and frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with PHP and JavaScript.
- Outstanding sense of ownership, passion, and drive.
- Excellent communication skills, especially in a remote setup.
- Some experience in a management role and building successful teams.
- A natural go-to-person within an organization, mentoring other engineers.
- Willingness to go the extra mile, give honest feedback, and discuss, commit, and execute.
- Fluent in English (C1) and enjoy working in an international environment.
