Ensure safety and keep traffic moving on Virginia’s interstates by joining a dedicated patrol team that operates every day of the year. This role is essential for responding to incidents, supporting stranded drivers, and assisting emergency personnel with reliable, on-the-ground service.
What You’ll Do
- Set up temporary traffic controls to protect emergency crews and manage traffic flow at incident scenes.
- Monitor roadways to identify accidents, breakdowns, or debris that disrupt traffic.
- Clear obstacles and hazardous materials from travel lanes to restore safe通行.
- Assist with the operation of reversible lanes and high-occupancy vehicle infrastructure where applicable.
- Provide basic roadside help including tire changes, fuel delivery, radiator water, and access to emergency communication tools.
What You’ll Need
- Ability to report directly to patrol supervisors and coordinate with management.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with the public and multiple emergency agencies.
- Willingness to complete required certification training.
- Availability to work any shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays, with on-call responsibilities.
