Canada Post is hiring a permanent Rural and Suburban Relief Letter Carrier to join our team in Sherwood Park, Alberta. This role is central to connecting communities, involving the sorting, collection, and distribution of mail safely and punctually using a personal vehicle.
What You'll Do
- Sort, collect, and distribute mail items safely and in a timely manner.
- Acquire and maintain knowledge of local infrastructure, including roads, customers, and delivery receptacles.
- Ensure mail is securely in your possession during delivery.
- Process various Canada Post products and services such as Change of Address notices, Damaged Mail, and Billable Items Delivered (BID).
- Wear and visibly display Canada Post identification while delivering and collecting mail from customers.
- Lift and carry items up to 50 lb / 22.7 kg.
- Make deliveries and operate a motor vehicle in all weather and traffic conditions.
What We're Looking For
- A satisfactory safe driving record.
- A valid permanent provincial driver's license - Non GDL.
- A personal vehicle with a minimum cargo space of 100 cu. ft. (2832 liters), a metal roof, and an accessory power outlet to install required Canada Post equipment.
- Ability to provide and maintain required automobile liability insurance and notify your insurance company of vehicle use for this role.
- Residence within a 75 km radius of the Sherwood Park post office is preferred.
- Essential English language requirement.
- Successfully pass an interview.
- Experience with deliveries and using a motor vehicle in all weather and traffic conditions.

- A vehicle with a 5th door/ rear hatch to allow for loading bulky and oversized items.
