The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for its Radiation Oncology clinic. This role provides direct patient care, coordinates care plans, and works collaboratively with providers and staff to support patients undergoing radiation oncology treatment.
What You'll Do
- Provide direct patient care and coordinate care for patients.
- Triage patients and work collaboratively with clinic providers, fellows, and staff.
- Work with patient referral sources and facilitate appointments.
- Coordinate transitions of care.
- Provide patient education on complex conditions.
- Develop and implement individual health plans with patients, families, and providers.
- Collect and document assessment data and develop a Plan of Care.
- Implement the Plan of Care, including medical orders and an interdisciplinary approach.
- Evaluate patient progress toward desired outcomes.
- Provide effective patient and family education and discharge planning.
- Administer medication per standard, including providing drug information.
- Act as a resource and support for others and delegate care based on standards.
- Contribute to a positive work environment conducive to clinical education.
- Serve as a resource for student nurses and staff.
- Perform routine work within established policies and procedures.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Associate’s degree in Nursing, Diploma RN, or Master’s degree in Nursing.
- Graduate of an accredited RN nursing program.
- Minimum of one (1) year of Registered Nursing experience.
- Valid Registered Nursing License.
- Basic computer skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong work ethics and accountability.
Nice to Have
- Current BLS certification.
- ACLS certification (or willingness to obtain within one year of starting).
- One (1) or more years of Oncology or Radiation Nursing experience.
