Cape Cod Healthcare is looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) for a Medical/Surgical unit. You will be responsible for providing comprehensive patient care utilizing the nursing process as part of an interdisciplinary team.
What You'll Do
- Practice according to entity mandatory requirements and department expectations.
- Care for patients utilizing the nursing process with a customer service approach.
- Provide care as part of the interdisciplinary team and utilize internal and external resources.
- Provide effective patient and family teaching and document according to guidelines.
- Administer medications safely and provide care according to best practice standards.
- Identify and report signs and symptoms of neglect or abuse as required by law.
- Care for terminally ill patients and families and manage patient pain.
- Utilize chemical and physical restraints as per policy and manage time effectively.
- Provide care respective of patient's advance directives.
- Address age-specific needs of adolescents, adults, and geriatric adults.
- Perform skills safely according to specific policies and protocols.
- Manage patients with chest drainage devices and intravenous therapy.
- Manage patients receiving epidural analgesia and patients on telemetry monitoring.
- Demonstrate knowledge in administration and assessment of cardiac medications.
- Respond appropriately in emergency and urgent situations.
- Provide care to post-operative patients and patients with orthopedic diagnoses.
What We're Looking For
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) Licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- Maintains BLS certification.
- Successful completion of a Basic Arrhythmia exam before hire.
- Successful completion of a Medical/Surgical IV Medication Module within 3 months of hire.
