Xplor is looking for a Risk Analyst to join our XplorPay vertical. In this remote role, you will monitor merchant processing activity, investigate suspicious patterns, and help mitigate company losses through detailed analysis and customer communication.
What You'll Do
- Monitor merchant processing activity daily.
- Conduct investigations of suspicious merchant activity related to processing outside approved parameters.
- Evaluate patterns in merchant processing activity and research against internal and external information sources.
- Review system and department generated reporting to identify potential processing issues.
- Answer incoming and make outgoing calls to customers professionally; log interactions; follow up on inquiries.
- Read and interpret business and financial documents.
- Analyze merchant account activity alerts from automated monitoring systems to identify suspicious transactions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, communicate, and implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Monitor emerging trends and threats in the payments industry and adapt risk assessment methodologies.
- Conduct verbal and written communication with merchants and issuing banks to resolve risk concerns.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures and efficient processes for risk management.
What We're Looking For
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as credit reports, billing statements, contracts, sales agreements, memos, letters, and process documentation.
- Demonstrated history of identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance risk management efficiency.
- Strong curiosity and proactive approach to problem-solving, with a continuous desire to learn and adapt.
- Proficiency in using risk management tools and software, with a strong aptitude for learning new technologies.
- Familiarity with fraud detection and payment methodologies, including transaction monitoring, chargeback management, and risk scoring systems.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data sets and identify patterns or anomalies indicative of risk.
- Ability to understand and explain merchant contract terms and conditions, as well as Visa/Mastercard operating policies and regulations.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or at least three years of related experience and/or training. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Previous risk experience.
Team & Environment
This role reports directly to the Director of Risk.

- Compensation: $55,000 to $70,000
