HDR Engineering, Inc. is hiring a Right of Way Agent to join our team in Denver. In this role, you will perform land rights services for moderate to highly complex projects with limited supervision. You will work on transportation, power, and water projects as part of multidisciplined teams including engineering, surveying, environmental and strategic communications. What You'll Do
- Conduct property ownership and valuation research
- Prepare real estate documents such as easements, offer letters, and MOAs
- Perform title and appraisal reviews
- Negotiate to acquire land rights for transportation and utility projects
- Meet with property owners, public agencies, and clients to discuss project-related issues
- Work independently or closely with a team, confidently interfacing with clients and property owners
- Attend field meetings and visit active construction sites
- Conduct quality assurance reviews of project deliverables
What We're Looking For
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in real estate, right-of-way, title, utility coordination, relocation, or property management
- Ability to work independently, communicate and document effectively, handle large volumes of work, and coordinate closely with management
- Ability to understand and work in compliance with federal, state, and industry laws, and FHWA, FAA, FTA, FRA, NEPA, FERC and Uniform Relocation Act regulations
- Ability to work confidently with clients, property owners, and occupants
- Ability to effectively balance office and field work in a collaborative and deadline-sensitive manner
- Proficiency with standard technology tools such as Microsoft Office and Project
- Strong communication skills, basic understanding of negotiation and presentation skills, and ability to work flexible hours and effectively with people of all types
- Availability for travel

- Certification from the International Right of Way Association
- Permitting experience within Colorado
