Firstup is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Revenue Recognition Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the complete revenue cycle, ensuring accurate reporting and strict adherence to accounting standards.
What You'll Do
- Manage the end-to-end revenue recognition process in compliance with ASC 606.
- Prepare and review monthly revenue journal entries, account reconciliations, and related schedules.
- Perform contract reviews to assess proper revenue treatment and deferred revenue balances.
- Analyze revenue data and provide insights to support financial reporting and forecasting.
- Collaborate with Sales, Legal, and Deal Desk teams to ensure contract terms align with revenue policies.
- Assist with the preparation of audit-ready documentation for external auditors.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of direct experience in revenue accounting, preferably in a SaaS or technology environment.
- Deep, practical knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition standards.
- Proficiency in Excel and experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Salesforce).
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
