Mid-Level Civil Engineer (Mine Reclamation) RESPEC is seeking a skilled mid-level engineer for our mine reclamation division situated in Lexington, Kentucky. Position Responsibilities The selected candidate will support planning and designing Abandoned Mine Land (AML) and reclamation projects, including impoundment design and inspections, site grading, stormwater management, permitting processes, technical report preparation, and project management. The role involves working alongside senior engineering staff to manage mining-related reclamation initiatives. Domestic travel may be required for client site visits and meetings. Qualifications Ideal candidates possess: - Bachelor's or master's degree in civil, mining, or environmental engineering/geology - 5-8 years environmental engineering experience - Professional engineer registration or eligibility - Abandoned mine land and reclamation background - Comprehensive understanding of federal/state environmental regulations - Proficiency in engineering software (AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS platforms) - Strong interpersonal and communication skills Preferred Qualifications: - Appalachia region AML project experience - Operational/consulting engineering background - Project management expertise Compensation and Benefits Salary commensurate with experience.
