About the Role

Henry Ford Health is hiring a Resident Optometrist to join our OptimEyes team, providing comprehensive eye care and vision services. You will ensure quality patient care and support office performance goals while working collaboratively with clinical faculty and staff.

What You'll Do

  • Assume primary responsibility for patient care and follow-up.
  • Become proficient in fitting contact lenses for both straightforward and challenging cases requiring specialty lenses.
  • Develop competency in detecting, diagnosing, and managing ocular disease and the ocular manifestations of systemic disease.
  • Provide care to a sufficient number of primary care patients to enhance clinical decision-making.
  • Participate in the educational experience of externs and in clinical research.

What We're Looking For

  • Graduation from a certified school of optometry.
  • Eligibility for licensure as an Optometrist in the state of Michigan.
  • Eligibility for Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agent (T.P.A.) and Diagnostic Pharmaceutical Agent (D.P.A.) certification.
  • Ability to work rotating days and shifts, including evening and weekend hours.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must meet or exceed core customer service responsibilities, standards and behaviors as outlined in the HFHS’ Customer Service Policy and practice the customer skills provided through on-going training.

Team & Environment

You will work collaboratively with the clinical faculty, administrative team, and support staff.
