Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is looking for a Resident Network Engineer to provide highly technical, on-site post-sales support for Juniper Networks products at a customer site in Ft. Meade, MD. This role requires a DOD Secret clearance and includes a $10K sign-on bonus.
What You'll Do
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on deployed Juniper products and technologies.
- Understand the customer’s organizational structure and network to help drive the highest level of network availability.
- Carry out testing of new designs, features, and functionality in a lab environment and develop implementation plans.
- Validate patches and fixes to operating system software in pre-production, test, and live networks.
- Troubleshoot equipment and network problems and manage JTAC cases through to resolution.
- Produce written summary reports of design projects, equipment, and network problems regularly.
- Hold workshops to understand the customer's existing network design and technical requirements.
- Train the customer’s personnel to configure and operate their Juniper Networks products.
- Collaborate with other employees performing similar resident engineering roles.
- Develop secondary skills in other products within the customer network.
What We're Looking For
- US Citizenship is required.
- DOD Secret clearance is required.
- Daily On Site Support in Ft. Meade, Maryland, USA (Not a remote or hybrid role).
- 5+ years of experience in a large Service Provider network.
- ISP experience providing implementation and technical support of networking products.
- Experience with Service Provider backbone VPN technologies (L2VPN, L3VPN, EVPN, pseudowire).
- Detailed technical experience installing and operating routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Detailed understanding of service provider protocols (TCP/IP, RSVP, Segment Routing).
- Experience troubleshooting network routing protocols (BGP, IS-IS, and MPLS).
- Experience with Software Defined Networking (SDN).
- Hands-on configuration and operational knowledge of Juniper EX, MX, SRX, and QFX products.
- Unix/Linux experience.
- Ability to function in a team environment and take on tasks with self-direction.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Nice to Have
- Automation and scripting experience.
- Certifications such as JNCIP, JNCIE, CCNP, or CCIE.
