AECOM is hiring a Resident Construction Manager

About the Role

AECOM is seeking an experienced Resident Construction Manager to lead the on-site field execution for a major wastewater system expansion in Provincetown, Massachusetts. You will oversee construction on this complex, high-profile municipal program over its five-year timeline, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, and to specification.

What You'll Do

  • Verify subcontractor work complies with design plans, specifications, and all federal, state, and local permits.
  • Implement and monitor field safety and environmental programs.
  • Address subcontractor requests for information and field changes, coordinating responses with the project and design teams.
  • Issue field directives and document daily construction activity with reports and photographs.
  • Monitor equipment and material deliveries for contract compliance and maintain construction schedules.
  • Provide regular updates to Department of Public Works staff and assist with public notices, questions, and community coordination.
  • Review subcontractor invoices and change orders.
  • Manage startup, commissioning, and field testing for AECOM-procured equipment.
  • Maintain record drawings, develop closeout punch lists, and assist with submittal, RFI, and O&M log reviews.
  • Track installation of AIS and BABA equipment and coordinate with state and local agency inspections.
  • Lead and attend meetings with the project team, subcontractors, and Town staff.
  • Assist the DBO operations team with troubleshooting and support final design development for upcoming work.

What We're Looking For

  • BS/BA in construction management, engineering, or related field + 8 years of relevant experience; or equivalent experience/education as a Resident Construction Manager.
  • Demonstrated experience with building codes, construction means/methods, reading plans/specs, and field QA/QC.
  • Experience with municipal projects and permit compliance (environmental, safety, local approvals).
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills for daily reports, photos, and logs.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and document control systems.
  • Ability to work full-time on active construction sites (walk/stand for extended periods, climb ladders, use PPE).
  • Valid US Driver’s License required; must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.

Nice to Have

  • 10+ years as a Resident Construction Manager, Resident Engineer, or similar role on water/wastewater projects.
  • Experience with electrical and instrumentation & control (I&C) equipment replacement.
  • Experience with Design-Build/DBO project delivery.
  • Startup and commissioning experience for pumping stations and process equipment.
  • Experience tracking AIS/BABA compliance.
  • Experience working with public agencies and community stakeholders.
