MLabs is hiring a Researcher - Perps to conduct in-depth protocol research, model risk parameters, and shape strategic research initiatives across high-impact DeFi projects. This role requires a strong blend of quantitative analysis, risk modeling expertise, and clear communication.
What You'll Do
- Conduct comprehensive analysis of emerging DeFi protocols and products, focusing on Risk Modeling, Mechanism Design, and parameter optimization.
- Analyze financial data to draw out specific insights for protocol requirements, leveraging key metrics for various financial analyses.
- Develop and deliver professional, visually compelling reports and formal research papers for clients and the broader community.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality outputs and contribute to the continuous improvement and innovation of our platform.
- Run and modify Python scripts, and write basic Python scripts for data fetching and normalization to support research activities.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in economic research, risk analysis, or a related quantitative field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a solid history of conducting data-driven research.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of compiling and writing formal research papers and presenting findings to high-impact stakeholders.
- Proficient in reading and a strong understanding of smart contract code.
- Comfortable running and modifying, and capable of writing basic, Python scripts for data manipulation and research support.
- Strong team player with a passion for DeFi and blockchain technology.
Nice to Have
- Experience with smart contracts, blockchain protocols, and/or DeFi projects.
- Proficiency in Python and familiarity with data fetching/normalization techniques.
- Knowledge of DeFi protocols, financial markets, and black-swan events.
- Familiarity with profiling tools and performance optimization techniques.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Based in the United States (remote or from the Brooklyn, NYC office) or in Europe.
