The University of Chicago is looking for a Research Technologist to support ongoing NIH-funded projects focused on innate immune cells and autoimmune diseases. You will manage core lab operations and collaborate closely with postdoctoral fellows and graduate students in the Reizis Lab within the Department of Medicine.
What You'll Do
- Perform general lab management, including ordering, storage, and regulatory compliance.
- Maintain the animal colony, supervising breeding, genotyping, and euthanasia.
- Collaborate with other lab members on the analysis of primary cells and tissues from experimental animals.
- Maintain experimental records, create figures, and calculate statistical significance of findings.
- Analyze and maintain data and/or specimens and conduct literature reviews.
- Assist with the preparation of reports, manuscripts, and other documents.
What We're Looking For
- A college or university degree in a related field.
- Knowledge and skills developed through less than 2 years of work experience in a related job discipline.
Nice to Have
- A Bachelor's degree in the biological sciences.
- Relevant research experience.
- Familiarity with mouse genetics and experience with animal colony maintenance and genotyping.
- Experience in basic immunologic techniques such as flow cytometry.
- Skills in basic bioinformatics and image processing.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Benefits & Compensation
- Compensation range: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00
