University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture was looking for a Research Technician

Join the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture as a Research Technician and become an integral member of a dedicated team running multi-site clinical trials. You'll contribute to research investigating the effectiveness of pharmacotherapies for treating psychostimulant and opioid addiction. Your focus will be on managing clinic activities, recruiting participants, and ensuring protocol adherence.

What You'll Do

  • Assist in participant recruitment through outreach, advertisements, and screening calls.
  • Conduct the informed consent process and screen participants for study eligibility.
  • Schedule and conduct study visits, collecting data and performing procedures, such as urine collection, behavioral tasks, and EEGs.
  • Prepare and ship biospecimen and genetics samples.
  • Conduct safety interviews, monitor adverse events, and maintain accurate participant data.
  • Respond to data queries, assist with medical records abstraction, and onboard participants for behavioral applications.
  • Perform routine outreach to encourage visit attendance and track participants in the community.
  • Attend at least three weekly team meetings and assist with problem-solving.

What We're Looking For

  • High School diploma/GED plus two (2) years of experience performing tests in a research laboratory.
  • Certified Research Specialist (CRS) certification or equivalent, to be completed within two years of hire.

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, criminal justice, sociology, biology, or a related field.
  • Coursework or specialized training related to substance use/dependence and behavioral health.
  • Customer service experience, experience with clinical populations, or clinical research experience.
  • Phlebotomy experience or a willingness to learn phlebotomy.

Technical Stack

  • Microsoft Office software, particularly Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience with electronic data capture (EDC) systems.
