About the Role

The University of Wisconsin–Madison, College of Letters & Science, SuccessWorks, is looking for a Research Specialist to provide primary data collection for a 5-year NIH-funded study using smartphones to remotely collect data from participants in alcohol addiction treatment programs. You will be involved in all aspects of this research study, focusing on day-to-day operational infrastructure, and will be supported in pursuing your professional development goals related to a research career.

What You'll Do

  • Review, analyze, and interpret data and/or document results for presentations and reporting.
  • Provide operational guidance on day-to-day activities for unit or program staff and/or student workers.
  • Conduct research experiments according to established protocols and collect data while monitoring test results.
  • Operate, clean, and maintain research equipment and the research area, track inventory, and place replenishment orders.
  • Participate in the development, interpretation, and implementation of research methodology and materials.
  • Perform literature reviews and write reports.

What We're Looking For

  • A minimum of 2 years of part-time or full-time work experience in undergraduate psychology research, working in a research setting, and/or with procedural aspects of data collection from human subjects.
  • Fluency with the Windows OS and Microsoft Office.
  • A Bachelor's degree.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with patient or customer interaction.
  • Experience documenting procedures, events, or data.
  • Experience programming in any language.
  • Experience with R, Python, Qualtrics, OnCore, Slack, or Asana.
  • Previous experience working in addiction treatment, with persons in outpatient mental health, or in clinical trials.
  • Preferred degrees and specialization areas: Psychology, Neuroscience, Statistics, Premed, or Clinical Trials.
