About the Role

Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation is seeking a Research Scientist, In Vivo Pharmacologist-CVM to join our Cardiovascular and Metabolic (CVM) Disease Area team. You will play a key role in developing breakthrough medicines by designing and executing preclinical in vivo experiments in an interdisciplinary setting.

What You'll Do

  • Design, execute, analyze, and document pre-clinical in vivo experiments in rodent models.
  • Plan and perform pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) studies, including compound dosing (SC, PO, IV), blood sample, and tissue collection.
  • Perform biochemical analyses on collected samples.
  • Assist in data analysis and interpretation.
  • Present results in lab and department meetings.

What We're Looking For

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 2+ years of related laboratory experience, or a Master’s degree with related experience.
  • Experience in handling, dosing (SC, PO, IV), and phenotyping rodent models of disease.
  • Proven expertise in in vivo experimental design and execution.
  • Experience working with a multidisciplinary team of scientists.
  • Basic knowledge of statistics and experience with common statistical software for biomedical research.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong written, oral, and record keeping skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with an emphasis on cardiometabolic disorders.
  • Cardiovascular disease drug discovery experience.
  • Histology experience, including tissue processing and sectioning (particularly cardiovascular tissues).

Team & Environment

You will work independently and collaboratively in an inter-disciplinary setting as part of the in vivo pharmacology team within the Cardiovascular and Metabolic (CVM) Disease Area.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Compensation: Research Scientist I: $60,600- $112,600/year | Research Scientist II: $77,000-$143,000/year
  • Eligibility for annual equity awards depending on level.
