The University of Toronto is seeking a Research Officer to support a multi-method knowledge translation study aimed at improving pain care in neonatal intensive care units globally. This role provides essential research and administrative support, implementing rigorous methodologies and contributing to meaningful outcomes.
What You'll Do
- Perform comprehensive reviews of current research literature.
- Verify the accuracy and completeness of grant submissions.
- Draft and submit documented procedures to the Research Ethics Board for approval.
- Follow procedural instructions when administering research studies.
- Recruit participants by posting adverts and screening for eligibility.
- Implement qualitative and quantitative research methods, including overseeing survey distribution and collection.
- Coordinate meeting schedules, agendas, materials, and follow-up items.
- Collect data, assist with analysis, and prepare draft reports, manuscripts, and summaries for knowledge translation and conference presentations.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor's Degree in health sciences, social sciences, health services research, or health information technology.
- A minimum of two years of health-related work experience conducting research, analyzing, interpreting, and reporting results.
- Working knowledge in implementation science and knowledge translation.
- Demonstrated strong interest in pain research.
- Experience coordinating research projects and implementing qualitative and quantitative methodologies.
- Experience drafting research summaries, preparing knowledge translation materials, and conducting literature reviews.
- Experience with qualitative and quantitative data collection, including participant recruitment, interpretation, and analysis through focus groups, interviews, questionnaires, and functional tests.
- Experience in data management, statistical analysis, and qualitative data analysis.
- Experience in preparing grant proposals and Research Ethics Board submissions.
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office), database management (RedCap), qualitative data packages (NVivo), and data analysis software (SPSS, SAS).
- Proficiency with reference management tools (Mendeley, Endnote).
- Strong research, analytical, interpersonal, time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention-to-detail with an ability to multi-task and prioritize competing demands.
- Initiative, ability to meet deadlines, and willingness to learn new skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a multi-professional team.
Nice to Have
- A Master's Degree in Health Sciences, Social Sciences, or Health Services Research.
- Clinical experience.

Benefits & Compensation
- Compensation is USW Pay Band 09, starting at $67,916 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $86,855.
Work Mode
This is an onsite position located at the St. George (Downtown Toronto) campus.
