LVT seeks a Research Nurse 1 to join a dedicated clinical research team focused on patients with heart failure. In this role, you will provide essential clinical and administrative nursing support, administer study medications, and evaluate participants under the supervision of the Research Nurse Manager and Principal Investigators.
What You'll Do
- Support participant safety and maintain communication with families, caregivers, and clinicians.
- Provide clinical and administrative nursing support for research trials based on your scope of practice.
- Conduct participant evaluations per protocol, assess adverse events, and apply triage and judgment to determine next steps.
- Administer medications and treatments per study protocol for outpatient research participants.
- Comply with institutional policies and guidelines, preparing and submitting documentation as required.
- Supervise and coordinate staffing or scheduling assignments for research staff.
- Participate in budget preparation and billing reconciliation.
- Identify, recruit, and enroll study participants, and participate in the informed consent process.
- Participate in and host monitor visits for clinical trials.
- Assist with Investigational New Drug (IND) and Investigational Device Exemption (IDE) applications for sponsor-investigator research.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor’s degree in nursing or equivalent, plus two years of nursing experience, preferably in a research setting.
- Demonstrated ability to work with research subjects of all ages and backgrounds.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey medical and research information.
- Ability to identify confidential and sensitive information.
- Ability to implement good clinical practices in all interactions with participants, families, and colleagues.
- Ability to identify adverse reactions to study treatments and complete the required protocol documentation.
- Ability to implement study protocols with supervision.
- Ability to provide work direction to research support staff.
- Demonstrated understanding of good clinical practices and regulatory compliance.
- Demonstrated experience with electronic data capture and database management.
- Demonstrated ability to perform position functions with some supervision.
- Current license as a California Registered Nurse.
- Current basic CPR certification.

You will work under the supervision of the Research Nurse Manager and Principal Investigators, collaborating closely with a robust clinical research team that includes Principal Investigators, a Clinical Research Nurse Manager, Associates, and other stakeholders.
