Orca Bio seeks a Research Fellow in Bioinformatics/Biostatistics to develop software and research techniques that analyze complex biological data. You will focus on applying Natural Language Processing (NLP), Large Language Models (LLM), and deep learning to address significant clinical challenges as part of a collaborative research program.
What You'll Do
- Focus on the development and application of Natural Language Processing (NLP), Large Language Models (LLM), and deep learning techniques to address various clinical challenges.
- Develop software and research techniques and/or tools to analyze and then aid in understanding biological data.
- Train in the research program of a Mayo Clinic principal investigator.
What We're Looking For
- Must have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent doctoral degree in a field deemed relevant by the program.
- This role is appropriate for individuals who have completed no more than one prior postdoctoral fellowship, at Mayo Clinic or elsewhere.
- Proof of English proficiency is required for J-1 Short-Term Scholars, Research Scholars, Professors, Specialists, and Student Interns sponsored by Mayo Clinic.
Nice to Have
- Qualified individuals will demonstrate the potential for research as evidenced by their training and peer-reviewed publications and should become competitive for national research grants.

Work Mode
This position is onsite and available in several locations: Phoenix/Scottsdale, Arizona; Jacksonville, Florida; Rochester, Minnesota; Mayo Clinic Health System campuses throughout Midwestern communities; and select international locations.
