Role OverviewCrowdStrike is seeking a Data Scientist III to lead Applied Generative AI Research and establish enterprise-wide standards for Generative AI implementation. This role involves technical leadership, strategic direction, and mentoring to accelerate AI adoption across the organization, with a focus on revolutionizing cybersecurity through scalable GenAI applications.
Responsibilities- Lead and architect the research strategy for Applied GenAI initiatives, establishing technical standards and frameworks for enterprise-wide implementation
- Drive innovation in GenAI applications across business units, developing novel approaches for diverse use-cases while ensuring consistent quality and performance
- Make strategic decisions about GenAI model architectures, training approaches, and deployment strategies that can scale across the organisation
- Mentor and guide Data Scientists while fostering a culture of excellence and knowledge sharing across teams
- Lead cross-functional initiatives to standardise GenAI practices, collaborating with senior leadership to align technical strategy with business goals
- Represent CrowdStrike's technical excellence through publications, speaking engagements, and thought leadership
- Establish best practices, technical standards, and evaluation frameworks for GenAI implementation company-wide
- Design processes for democratising GenAI capabilities across teams and skill levels
- Create documentation, guidelines, and training materials to enable successful GenAI adoption
- Advanced degree (PhD or Masters) in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
- 5+ years of applied machine learning / research experience with production-grade models
- Deep expertise in LLM training and deployment at scale
- Strong technical leadership and mentoring experience
- Advanced knowledge of Python, Deep Learning frameworks, and cloud technologies
- Expert-level understanding of GPU technologies and optimisation techniques
- Outstanding communication skills with ability to influence senior stakeholders
- Proven track record solving complex technical challenges at scale
- Patents or significant intellectual property contributions in AI
- Publications in leading AI journals and conferences
- Experience with cybersecurity applications of machine learning
- Successful research-to-production implementations at scale
- Contributions to open-source ML projects
