The University of Chicago is looking for a Research Assistant I to provide basic technical support for scientific research projects. In this at-will, grant-funded role, you’ll assist with standardized laboratory duties and help draft presentations on research findings.
What You'll Do
- Conduct routine laboratory duties by collecting data in support of research projects under direct supervision.
- Collect and enter data.
- Assist in the analysis of data and with the preparation of reports, manuscripts, and other documents.
- Comply with all institution, state, and federal regulatory policies, procedures, directives, and mandates.
- Perform other related work as needed.
What We're Looking For
- Vocational training, apprenticeships, or equivalent experience in a related field (a four-year degree is not typically required).
- Knowledge and skills developed through less than 2 years of work experience in a related job discipline.
Nice to Have
- A Bachelor’s Degree.
- Experience with ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq, GRO-seq, and RNA-seq.
- Experience with CRISPR genetic engineering.
- Experience with rapid protein degradation using a Degron system.
- Experience with Bioinformatics.
- Experience with cardiac functional analyses.
- Experience with mouse genetics.
- Experience with Lentivirus transduction.
- Cell culture experience.
- Experience with protein-protein interaction analysis using mass-spectrometry.
