University of Chicago was looking for a Research Assistant I​

The University of Chicago is looking for a Research Assistant I to provide basic technical support for scientific research projects. In this at-will, grant-funded role, you’ll assist with standardized laboratory duties and help draft presentations on research findings.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct routine laboratory duties by collecting data in support of research projects under direct supervision.
  • Collect and enter data.
  • Assist in the analysis of data and with the preparation of reports, manuscripts, and other documents.
  • Comply with all institution, state, and federal regulatory policies, procedures, directives, and mandates.
  • Perform other related work as needed.

What We're Looking For

  • Vocational training, apprenticeships, or equivalent experience in a related field (a four-year degree is not typically required).
  • Knowledge and skills developed through less than 2 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

Nice to Have

  • A Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Experience with ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq, GRO-seq, and RNA-seq.
  • Experience with CRISPR genetic engineering.
  • Experience with rapid protein degradation using a Degron system.
  • Experience with Bioinformatics.
  • Experience with cardiac functional analyses.
  • Experience with mouse genetics.
  • Experience with Lentivirus transduction.
  • Cell culture experience.
  • Experience with protein-protein interaction analysis using mass-spectrometry.
