Fuku, a fast-growing international consumer brand in hobby and collectible products, is hiring a Head of Business Development / Business Development Manager in Japan. Your mission is to accelerate growth and strengthen key retail partnerships across the country.
What You'll Do
- Develop and manage relationships with key retail accounts and wholesale distributors in Japan.
- Drive SKU listings and sales growth within major retail chains.
- Identify and prospect new business opportunities across retail channels.
- Book and conduct meetings with buyers and key decision-makers.
- Lead sales discovery conversations to understand client needs and tailor product offerings.
- Execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth operations and product delivery.
- Contribute to improving sales materials, processes, and go-to-market strategy.
- Monitor market trends, competitors, and industry developments.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Merchandising, or a related field.
- Proven experience selling consumer products into retail channels.
- Excellent prospecting and meeting-booking capability.
- Strong negotiation and presentation skills.
- Self-driven, proactive, and adaptable in a fast-growing environment.
- Willingness to travel within Japan as needed.
Nice to Have
- Experience in toys, hobby, collectibles, lifestyle, or IP-based products.
- Strong relationships with retail buyers.
- Mandarin (Chinese) language ability.
- Candidates with strong retail channel experience are welcome.
Work Mode
This role operates locally within Japan, requiring travel as needed to manage partnerships.
