About the Role
The specialist will design, implement, and support geospatial programming solutions to enhance remote sensing capabilities, working with large datasets and integrating tools into operational workflows.
Responsibilities
- Design and build software applications for geospatial data processing
- Support remote sensing workflows through custom scripting and automation
- Develop and maintain geospatial databases and data pipelines
- Collaborate with analysts to understand technical requirements
- Implement algorithms for satellite and aerial image analysis
- Optimize code for performance and scalability
- Troubleshoot and debug geospatial software issues
- Document code and technical processes thoroughly
- Integrate third-party geospatial libraries and APIs
- Ensure compatibility across platforms and systems
- Support data visualization and mapping initiatives
- Work with raster and vector geospatial data formats
- Apply knowledge of coordinate reference systems and projections
- Maintain version control using Git or similar tools
- Participate in code reviews and team planning sessions
- Stay current with advancements in geospatial technologies
- Support quality assurance and testing procedures
- Assist in deployment of geospatial applications
- Provide technical guidance to team members
- Ensure compliance with data security standards

- Professional experience with satellite imagery analysis
- Hands-on work with machine learning in geospatial contexts
- Experience with JavaScript and web mapping libraries

- Security clearance or ability to obtain one
