About the Role
This position involves delivering comprehensive psychiatric care to patients via telehealth, conducting evaluations, developing treatment plans, prescribing medications, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments through virtual platforms
- Diagnose and treat mental health conditions following clinical best practices
- Develop individualized treatment plans for patients across diverse populations
- Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications safely and effectively
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment as needed
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records
- Collaborate with care coordinators and other clinicians for integrated support
- Provide crisis intervention and risk assessment when necessary
- Engage in regular clinical documentation and treatment reviews
- Follow regulatory and compliance standards for telepsychiatry
- Participate in team meetings and case discussions
- Support patient education on mental health conditions and treatments
- Ensure informed consent is obtained for all treatment procedures
- Uphold patient confidentiality and privacy standards
- Respond promptly to patient messages and clinical inquiries
- Adhere to state-specific prescribing regulations in Illinois
- Engage in ongoing quality improvement initiatives
- Maintain active licensure and required certifications
- Complete prior authorizations and documentation for medication access
- Coordinate transitions of care when appropriate
- Utilize clinical decision support tools during patient visits
- Conduct follow-up appointments to track therapeutic outcomes
- Address patient barriers to treatment adherence
- Promote trauma-informed care principles in all interactions
- Stay current with advances in psychiatric treatment modalities
