Federal Staffing Resources is hiring a Remote Medical Coder III to support the Defense Health Agency (DHA) Medical Coding Program under the MQS2-NG contract. This is a 100% remote position where you will perform complex inpatient facility and professional coding across Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs).
What You'll Do
- Perform inpatient facility and professional coding for inpatient stays, surgical procedures, anesthesia, trauma, critical care, rehabilitation, and ancillary services.
- Assign accurate ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
- Ensure correct DRG, RVU, and RWP assignment.
- Code encounters within MHS GENESIS®, 3M Encompass 360, and JLV.
- Research and resolve coding edit failures.
- Maintain DHA standards for ≥97% coding accuracy and ≥80% assigned workload completion.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of medical coding or auditing experience in 2+ specialties OR 3+ years of coding experience within a Military Treatment Facility (MTF).
- Active professional services coding certification.
- Active facility coding certification.
- All certifications must be in good standing.
- Experience with inpatient coding and DRGs.
- Eligible to pass a DHA background investigation.
- Must reside and work within CONUS.
Nice to Have
- Prior DHA or DoD coding experience.
- Experience with high-volume inpatient workloads.
