The Clean Air Task Force (CATF) seeks an early-career attorney to join the U.S. Legal Team as a Wendy Jacobs Legal Fellow. In this role, you will work under supervision on all phases of advocacy, providing strategic legal advice, drafting documents, building records, and supporting litigation.
What You'll Do
- Conduct legal and factual research to support advocacy efforts.
- Assist in drafting comments, complaints, petitions, motions, and briefs.
- Help build and maintain effective working relationships with clients and partner organizations.
- Represent CATF in multiple litigation and advocacy coalitions.
- Collaborate with CATF program staff and technical experts.
- Provide legal, policy, and subject-matter expertise as a junior team member.
What We're Looking For
- Juris Doctor degree.
- Active license to practice law in a U.S. jurisdiction or plans to sit for a bar exam in the summer of 2026.
Nice to Have
- An undergraduate background or professional training in science or engineering.
- Knowledge of or experience advocating for air pollution control, carbon capture, geothermal, or nuclear technologies.
- Litigation experience or a clerkship.
- Coursework or experience with environmental, administrative, and/or energy law, especially the Clean Air Act.
Team & Environment
You will be part of the U.S. Legal Team, working under the supervision of the Legal Director and collaborating with other attorneys, clients, and CATF program staff.
Benefits & Compensation
- Annual salary: $95,000
