Uptalent.io is seeking a Remote Mechanical Drafter based in Latin America to join our engineering team. In this role, you will take full ownership of mechanical and structural drafting tasks, supporting the creation of modular, steel-based, and enclosure-type systems manufactured in-house. You will work autonomously, receiving inputs from senior engineers and returning complete drafting packages ready for review or fabrication.
What You'll Do
- Produce 2D manufacturing and shop drawings for mechanical and structural systems.
- Develop and maintain 3D CAD models, assemblies, and detailed part drawings.
- Prepare BOMs, material lists, and fabrication documentation.
- Support projects involving structural steel, sheet metal, enclosures, and modular systems.
- Coordinate with mechanical and electrical engineers to clarify design intent.
- Revise drawings based on engineering feedback and fabrication requirements.
- Manage multiple drafting tasks across concurrent projects.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Drafter / CAD Technician (not junior-level).
- Strong ability to draft complete packages autonomously from engineering inputs.
- Solid experience with SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD.
- Background in manufacturing, fabrication, or engineered systems.
- Experience producing fabrication-ready drawings.
- Fluent English (written and spoken).
Nice to Have
- Structural steel fabrication and welded assemblies.
- Sheet metal enclosures, cabinets, or racks.
- Modular or containerized systems (ISO containers, enclosures).
- Industrial or manufacturing environments.
- Revit experience.
