Immerse is looking for a Remote Japanese Language Teacher to teach adult professionals in engaging one-on-one sessions using immersive technology. You'll join a collaborative community focused on pedagogy and learner progress, delivering structured communicative lessons and guiding learners through real-life scenarios.
What You'll Do
- Teach Japanese to adult professionals in 1:1 communicative lessons.
- Facilitate structured Japanese communicative lessons in one-on-one sessions with adult learners.
- Guide learners through real-life scenarios such as meetings, travel, or professional communication.
- Provide feedback on pronunciation, grammar, and fluency.
- Track learner progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Communicate proactively with the instructional team.
What We're Looking For
- BA in Japanese Language Education, Applied Linguistics, or closely related field OR Bachelor’s degree plus Japanese language teaching certification and extensive teaching experience.
- 2+ years of structured Japanese language teaching experience.
- Experience teaching adult learners.
- Strong foundation in communicative or task-based language teaching.
- Demonstrated ability to develop speaking and listening skills intentionally.
- Native or near-native Japanese proficiency (JLPT N1 equivalent or ACTFL Advanced High).
- Minimum B2-level English proficiency.
- Comfortable using technology and learning new platforms.
- Organized, reliable, and professional.
Team & Environment
You'll be part of a collaborative community focused on pedagogy and learner progress. You'll work one-on-one with learners, allowing for a deeper impact on language development, using structured lesson frameworks without needing to create a full curriculum.
