UNHCR is looking for a Registration Associate to join our team at the SO Mafraq office in Jordan. This role is central to ensuring registration is effectively used for identifying specific protection needs, managing operations, and achieving durable solutions for populations of concern.
What You'll Do
- Assist in the implementation of registration strategies and methodologies for populations of concern.
- Assist in the supervision and daily running of registration team activities.
- Conduct registration interviews in accordance with registration standards and guidance.
- Provide counselling and respond to queries from asylum seekers and refugees regarding UNHCR's procedures and their rights.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and data related to all registration cases.
- Identify persons with specific needs and ensure timely referral to protection follow-up.
- Collaborate with protection staff and partners in the delivery of assistance and programming.
- Draft correspondence and reports relating to registration activities.
- Provide statistics and draft reports related to registration data.
- In consultation with the supervisor, make decisions on day-to-day operations and devise efficient registration procedures.
- Support the identification and management of risks and opportunities impacting objectives.
- Perform other related duties as required.
What We're Looking For
- For G6 level: 3 years relevant experience with High School Diploma; or 2 years relevant work experience with Bachelor or equivalent or higher.
- Good computer skills, particularly in data management.
- Knowledge of English and UN working language of the duty station if not English and local language.
- Fluent proficiency in speaking and writing in both English and Arabic is essential.
- A minimum of two years’ knowledge and experience preferably of the working context of SO Mafraq such as working with refugees in camps and in host communities.
- Demonstrated experience in leading/managing/overseeing teams, preferably in conducting registration activities.
- Required to have extensive experience in utilizing IT software relevant to registration and documentation purposes (e.g., proGres, BIMs application, RAIS).
- Demonstrated experience using project management skills to contribute to successful outcomes.
Nice to Have
- Training in basic principles of international protection.
- Experience in working with UNHCR proGres software.
- Knowledge of Excel, Kobo and/or data management tools is a strong advantage.

Team & Environment
You will be a member of the Registration team, normally supervised by the Registration Officer. You may provide day-to-day supervision, direction and support to UNHCR staff engaged in registration and related activities.
Work Mode
This is an onsite position based in SO Mafraq, Jordan.
