The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is hiring a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) open to new graduates. In this role, you will work under physician direction and the supervision of the Respiratory Care Clinical Team Manager to provide quality patient care, project a positive image for UAMS Medical Center, and promote a healthy work environment.
What You'll Do
- Perform routine respiratory care procedures including updrafts, metered dose inhalers (MDI), chest physiotherapy (CPT), arterial blood gases (ABG), incentive spirometry, intrapulmonary percussive ventilation (IPV), patient education, and mechanical ventilator setup and management.
- Assist in codes and rapid responses.
- Enter patient treatment notes in the e-chart system and/or place documentation in patient charts.
- Call for, or physically move, equipment and medical supplies needed into assigned work areas.
- Interact with and assist the public in a professional and friendly manner.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills, communicating accurate and complete information while maintaining strict confidentiality when necessary.
- Demonstrate positive working relationships with co-workers, management team, and ancillary departments; follow the Core Concepts of Patient and Family Centered Care and the Basic Code of Conduct Guidelines.
- Assist internal and external stakeholders with exceptional customer service.
What We're Looking For
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Care by date of hire.
- Arkansas Licensed Respiratory Therapy Practitioner (LRCP) by date of hire.
- Must pass the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) RRT Credentialing Examination by date of hire.
Nice to Have
- Experience as a UAMS Respiratory Care Intern.
- ACLS, NRP, Basic Life Support (BLS).
