AdventHealth is hiring a Registered Nurse RN for the Adult Behavioral Comprehensive Treatment Unit. In this role, you will be responsible for providing safe, therapeutic, and quality patient care, supervising nursing personnel, and responding to emergency situations. What You'll Do
- Respond to and participate in unit and hospital code situations, treating patients according to protocols.
- Supervise and guide licensed and non-licensed nursing personnel in delivering patient care.
- Assist physicians with bedside procedures and perform therapeutic measures as prescribed.
- Develop, prioritize, and document individualized care plans involving patients, families, and significant others.
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and appropriately, including IV infusions and oxygen supplementation.
- Provide patient and family education on care plans, medications, procedures, and discharge instructions, documenting the education and patient responses.
- Maintain a safe patient care environment, including the use of restraints and fall risk precautions.
- Perform and document accurate initial and ongoing patient assessments, including physical and mental status, and report findings to the responsible physician.
- Monitor patient lab work for trends, report abnormal results, and obtain appropriate interventions.
- Evaluate and communicate patient responses to care plans and interventions to appropriate team members.
What We're Looking For
- Associate's of Nursing
- Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS)
- Ability to use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patients, evaluate interventions, and revise plans of care according to patient outcomes.
- Basic computer skills – must be able to navigate Microsoft Windows-based programs.
- Fluent in English (read, verbal and written skills).
Nice to Have
- Bachelor's of Nursing
- 1+ years behavioral Health nursing experience
- Experience with adult behavioral health patients
- NonViolent Crisis Intervention Program certification
