Mass General Brigham (The McLean Hospital Corporation) seeks a Registered Nurse to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing nursing care to patients within the standards of the department, hospital, and regulatory agencies. You will provide leadership in organizing patient care and contribute to the productivity of the hospital, department, and unit.
What You'll Do
- Accurately assess patients’ needs utilizing multiple data sources to determine health problems and functional status.
- Utilize a Recovery Oriented Framework to identify patient strengths.
- Perform point of care testing and communicate findings effectively to the healthcare team.
- Document patient response to intervention and modify individualized Nursing Plans of Care.
- Identify patient behaviors that contribute to crisis and utilize techniques to de-escalate situations.
- Participate in the development of multidisciplinary treatment plans and partner with patients/families to support recovery goals.
- Establish a therapeutic alliance with assigned patients.
- Demonstrate safe, accurate, and timely medication administration using BMV scanning.
- Promote interventions that provide the least-restrictive alternatives.
- Participate in and lead patient groups.
- Accurately evaluate the effectiveness of nursing care interventions.
- Communicate patients’ clinical status at team rounds and shift reports.
- Utilize evidence-based nursing knowledge to guide practice decisions.
- Provide direction and supervision of MHSs and delegate care interventions.
- Assume a leadership role in medical and psychiatric emergencies and promote critical incident de-briefing.
- Participate in the training and education of RNs, MHSs, and other healthcare providers.
- Provide health teaching related to patient needs and recovery goals.
- Maintain a commitment to professional growth and competency.
- Seek constructive feedback and identify areas for professional development.
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality and communicate positively with patients and staff.
- Demonstrate effective time management and economical use of services and supplies.
What We're Looking For
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) State License
- Nursing Diploma or Certificate
Nice to Have
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- One year of medical or psychiatric experience

This role is onsite at our 115 Mill Street location.
