Abbott Laboratories Inc is hiring a PRN Registered Nurse Patient Educator in Washington, D.C. In this per-diem role, you will provide personalized Face-2-Face training to home testing customers on finger stick blood sampling and operating PT/INR equipment.
What You'll Do
- Remotely set up training appointments directly with the customer or caregiver.
- Travel to the customer's home setting within the general geographic location of your home.
- Demonstrate and instruct the customer and/or their caregiver on the proper use and care of PT/INR equipment.
- Explain test reporting options.
- Communicate and present yourself in a professional manner.
- Accurately document and submit patient training records electronically.
- Maintain communications by cell phone, email, and internet access.
- Utilize secure encrypted email to communicate any customer Protected Health Information (PHI).
What We're Looking For
- A current Registered Nurse license.
- Clinical experience.
- Reliable transportation.
- Computer and Smart Device proficiency.
- Own a personal Laptop or Desktop computer to complete company requirements if needed.
- Have access to a printer.
- Proficiency in basic website and application troubleshooting using a smart device.
- Ability to travel a minimum of 100 miles roundtrip.
- Successful completion of a consumer report (background check) and pre-employment drug screening.
- Completion of assigned educational prerequisites.
- Proof of health screening documentation.
- Ability to complete web-based and interactive training provided by Acelis Connected Health.
Nice to Have
- Direct experience or exposure to anticoagulation management or homecare.
- Health education training experience.
Benefits & Compensation
- Compensation range: $22.15 – $44.35 per hour.
Work Mode
This is a local, per-diem position based in Washington, D.C. Work involves travel to customer homes within the general geographic area of your residence.
