In this role, you will assess human responses and be fully responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for your patients, accountable for the quality of care delivered.
What You'll Do
- Provide leadership in a professional practice setting through role modeling and mentoring.
- Assign or delegate tasks based on patient needs and staff skill levels.
- Manage staff duties and breaks when performing the charge nurse role.
- Maintain a safe environment, considering patient condition and intervention complexity.
- Share constructive feedback, knowledge, and skills with peers and colleagues.
- Participate in interdisciplinary teams to evaluate clinical care and patient safety initiatives.
- Engage in department-specific quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives.
- Supervise, delegate to, and evaluate LPNs within their scope of practice.
- Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, evaluate, and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Derive culturally and age-appropriate expected outcomes with patient, family, and care team involvement.
- Analyze health status data to determine patient care needs and report changes promptly.
- Accept assignments outside your primary unit and perform duties within your competency.
- Commit to lifelong learning, professional advancement, and participation in peer review.
- Continuously evaluate patient and family satisfaction and resolve concerns.
- Utilize effective time management to complete duties within your shift.
What We're Looking For
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC)
- CPR certification
