The University of Miami is hiring a Registered Nurse 2 - Specialty - Chemotherapy Infusion for its UHealth Kendall facility. In this role, you will provide expert nursing care within a health system built on a tradition of excellence in teaching, research, and patient care.
What You'll Do
- Assess assigned patients and evaluate plans, documenting nursing care and reporting symptoms and changes in patient condition.
- Modify patient treatment plans based on patient responses, conditions, and physician orders.
- Review, evaluate, and report diagnostic tests to assess patient condition.
- Consult with physicians and other healthcare professionals to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
- Prepare patients for, and assist with, examinations, procedures, and treatments.
- Consider patient age and culture during treatments and provide relevant information regarding the treatment plan.
- Nurture a compassionate environment by providing psychological support.
- Perform appropriate patient tests and safely administer medications within your scope of practice.
- Administer medications and treatments, maintaining accurate records per regulatory bodies, policies, procedures, and physician orders.
- Communicate the plan of care to patients and families in a timely manner and coordinate with team members.
- Use available resources to assist in discharge planning.
- Plan, prioritize, and adjust assignments to accomplish goals and provide superior patient care.
- Safely operate medical equipment.
- Serve as a preceptor and assist new staff in acclimating to the healthcare environment and their patient care role.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Current Florida Registered Nurse License
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Certification (ACLS)
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS)
- ONS Certification
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience
