Bloom Energy is seeking a Regional Superintendent - Midwest to oversee site build activities for fuel cell projects across the Midwest. This remote position requires residency in AZ, ID, OH, PA, or UT, with extensive regional travel and flexible hours to support installation plans and customer needs.
What You'll Do
- Coordinate site build activities with Bloom Energy team and subcontractors
- Monitor day to day activities of contractors and audit safety standards
- Review and approve site design drawings and confer with designers and applications engineers to adjust discrepancies and clarify details
- Perform site and system verifications; identification and troubleshooting of open items prior to field service and commissioning handoff
- Responsible for commissioning of all Bloom Energy ancillary equipment
- Assist project managers in controlling budgets & schedule
- Identify and recommend process improvements and cost savings in build activities
- Provide feedback and documentation for subsequent site builds
- Ensure all project execution documents are technical complete and meet the local and state laws
- Ensure compliance of all safety, and performance metrics during site construction for Bloom Energy personnel and General Contractors
- Ensure that Bloom Energy customers have 100% Customer Satisfaction with the construction and installation process
- Coordinate and troubleshoot site network connectivity with Bloom Energy IT & host customer
- Coordinate shipment, placement, anchoring of fuel cells
- Coordinate site/system commissioning with Field Service Personnel
- Coordinate final utility interconnections and utility inspections
- Train employees and first emergency responders about fuel cell system operation & safety
- Provide status reports of all site activities
- Ensure all revenue reporting meters are installed and functioning properly
- Extensive travel within the region is required; may require some travel outside of region
- Off-hour and weekend work may be required to support installation plan
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends as needed
What We're Looking For
- 7 years of relevant work experience is required
- Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction: Including technology, equipment, methods, cost control methods, and safety requirements
- Must possess a highly motivated personality and a strong ability to work in a team environment with a customer service focus
- Well-developed and professional interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively with people at all levels of the organization, as well as outside customers, utility and governmental personnel
- Must be able to read and interpret fuel cell/electrical single line diagrams and blueprints
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite
- Familiarity with building/mechanical/electrical codes (NEC, NFPA) required
- Must be able to walk at least 5 miles per day on uneven surfaces under typical construction site conditions, including exposure to outdoor elements, noise, and varying terrain
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as walking and standing for extended periods as well as bending, stooping and climbing
- Comfortable working in environments with machinery, tools, and safety equipment
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Science or related field
- Background in facilities, power systems, and grid interconnection
- Class “B” General Contractors License favorable
