Allegheny Health Network is hiring a Radiology Technologist I Orthopedics to perform prescribed radiographic imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. You will competently execute a variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment and initiative.
What You'll Do
- Position patients and perform imaging procedures, analyzing results and resolving quality issues by repositioning patients and repeating procedures as necessary.
- Enter, transmit, and report scan results.
- Review patient history and physician's orders, educating patients about procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation.
- Prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice when ordered, monitoring patient condition and responding to changes.
- Prepare equipment and supplies, selecting appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
- Implement safety standards, perform quality control on equipment, and troubleshoot/report malfunctions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- An Associate’s Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent education and experience.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R) Radiography certification required within 12 months of hire.
- CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
Nice to Have
- Prior radiology experience.
