About the Role

AdventHealth is looking for a Radiology Technologist to perform radiographic imaging procedures and provide direct patient care. You will be responsible for ensuring high-quality images that meet department standards while upholding our commitment to serving the wholeness of each person in body, mind, and spirit.

What You'll Do

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, providers, team members, and others.
  • Move, position, and manipulate radiographic equipment to complete requested procedures safely.
  • Perform direct patient care duties within scope of practice, including monitoring patient condition, transporting patient, and using proper infection control techniques.
  • Ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use, and that all equipment undergoes routine cleaning and safety checks.
  • Notify appropriate personnel when inventory is low.
  • Cross-train into advanced modalities as needed.
  • Follow basic radiation safety concepts of time, distance and shielding to keep exposure levels ALARA for patient and staff.
  • Perform radiographic imaging procedures, ensuring high-quality images that meet department standards.
  • Position patients and equipment, selecting technical factors to produce radiographic images safely and in a timely manner.
  • Perform imaging with correct patient demographic and examination information.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems.
  • Assist patients during procedures, ensuring their comfort, safety, and privacy, in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

  • High School Grad or Equivalent.
  • Knowledgeable in all aspects of Diagnostic Imaging to include Surgery and Trauma.
  • One year post certification experience required to evaluate and/or instruct student radiographers.
  • Ability to analyze and assess data, techniques, methodology, equipment operation, and quality control.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of patient positioning and equipment operations, including x-ray producing equipment.
  • Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with patients and their family, hospital staff, nurses, physicians, and other health care professionals.
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the health care industry.
  • Able to fully use all Radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Must be able to use computer system for data entry and retrieval.
  • Patient care skills to care for Infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient populations.
  • Must be able to independently perform radiographic procedures to departmental standards.
  • Demonstrates ability to follow written and verbal instructions effectively.
  • Ability to learn and use radiology software packages.
  • Maintain responsibility for all required registries and licenses to perform Diagnostic Imaging.
  • Responsible to maintain all required continuing and annual education.
  • Knowledge of Diagnostic Radiological Procedures/Positions.
  • Ability to determine appropriate technical factors.
  • Ability to learn and master new tasks related to Image Quality and Radiation Safety.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work with people of various diverse backgrounds.
  • Adult/and child/infant CPR.
  • Ability to perform radiographic procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision.
  • Knowledge of communication styles and constant deployment of proper engagement behaviors when encountering patients, staff, and physicians.
  • Knowledge of the use of computerized and radiographic equipment to perform diagnostic procedures with minimal radiation exposure and maximum image quality.
  • The ability to communicate and receive instructions, verbally and written and carry them out as directed.
  • Must be able to operate radiographic equipment and work with electrical and radiant energy.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of general radiographic procedures.
  • Ability to multi-task efficiently in a fast pace, high patient volume environment.
  • Strong critical thinking skills.
  • Must have the knowledge and skill necessary to provide care that addressed the physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and age-appropriate needs to the patient population served within the department.
  • 1+ year experience preferably in radiology or a new graduate of accredited radiologic technology program.
  • Registered Technologist – Radiography (RT(R) (ARRT)).
  • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS).

Nice to Have

  • Previous Radiologic Technologist experience.
  • Associate degree.
  • Bachelor's degree.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Compensation: $24.45 - $45.46 per hour

This is an onsite position located at 100 HEALTH PARK DR, LOUISVILLE, Colorado, 80027.
