Mass General Brigham Community Physicians, Inc. is hiring a Radiology Tech to perform patient care duties and produce diagnostic imaging through the operation of radiographic equipment. Under the general direction of the Manager, you will work as an independent contributor and as part of a multi-disciplinary team striving to provide exceptional care. What You'll Do
- Confirm correct patient and exam to be performed through patient confirmation, interview, history, and medical record review.
- Explain procedures to patients, considering individual physical, emotional, and language needs to ensure understanding and compliance.
- Adjust equipment to correct settings, setting automated and manual technical factors to safely image patients.
- Perform required imaging using the appropriate equipment according to department protocol or Radiologist request.
- Ensure exams are correctly labeled prior to transmission and successfully arrive in PACS.
- Operate fluoroscopic, portable, diagnostic, and other equipment as required.
- May cover in alternate locations or MGB sites with appropriate training should coverage needs arise.
What We're Looking For
- Must be board eligible through the American Board of Radiology.
- Registered Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required within 90 days of hire.
- Radiologic Technologist and Technician State License.
- Certificate or Diploma in Radiography.
- Must effectively use interpersonal skills to deal with patients and fellow employees who may be under stress.
- Excellent attention to detail, written, and communication skills; must be able to read and write in English.
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, radiation physics principles, ALARA, radiographic equipment, and positioning.
- Must be physically capable of lifting a minimum of 40 lbs.
- Ability to recognize and respond appropriately to emergency and infection control situations.
- Displays a positive attitude and professional appearance; exemplifies flexibility and willingness to adapt to operational needs.
Nice to Have
- Associate's Degree in Radiography.
- Registered Technologist [R.T.(ARRT)] credential.
- 0-1 year of experience in radiology technology.
