Foxelli Group is seeking a freelance, remote Quilting Pattern Writer to create easy-to-follow, aesthetically pleasing quilting patterns for their subscription box brand, Mrs Quilty. The role involves designing quilt projects and writing clear, step-by-step instructions for beginners, intermediate, and advanced quilters, ensuring accessibility and clarity for all skill levels.
What You'll Do
- Design creative quilting projects that fit within a Mrs Quilty format.
- Write different level patterns.
- Write detailed step-by-step instructions for the Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced versions of each pattern.
- Include a materials list, finished size, cutting guide, diagrams, assembly instructions, and helpful tips.
- Collaborate with the internal team for feedback, testing, and final polishing.
- Meet deadlines and deliver clean, well-formatted work without hand-holding.
What We're Looking For
- Real quilting experience and have created original patterns before (or know you can!)
- Knowledge of quilting language and various patchwork techniques such as HST, Flying geese, SNF, and so on.
- Ability to teach through writing — clear, practical, and easy to follow.
- Reliable, proactive, and organized — no disappearing acts.
Nice to Have
- Experience with pattern layout/design tools or basic illustration/diagramming.
- Proficiency in InDesign.

A full-time role requires availability during at least 5 hours of typical working hours in the Eastern European Time Zone (EET, UTC+2 and UTC+3) for effective collaboration. Part-time roles are exempt from this requirement.
