Figure is looking for a Quality Engineering Intern to join our team in Sunnyvale. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting the development and implementation of robust quality processes as we scale our production of advanced robotics hardware.
What You'll Do
- Support the Quality Engineering team in developing quality documentation such as quality control plans and work instructions
- Assist with organizing and managing Material Review Board (MRB) processes
- Perform verification inspections and testing of components and assemblies
- Support the creation and review of First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR)
- Perform dimensional, visual, and functional inspections based on QC plans and work instructions
- Track and manage non-conformance reports (NCRs) and assist with follow-up actions
- Help maintain and organize quality documentation and resources
- Support incoming quality control (IQC) activities and supplier-related quality checks
What We're Looking For
- Currently pursuing a master’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a related engineering field
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD models
- Good understanding of GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Interest in manufacturing environments and robotics hardware
Nice to Have
- Experience in robotics, automotive, aerospace, or other high-tech manufacturing industries
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and industrial engineering principles
- Familiarity with inspection tools, metrology equipment, or quality analysis methods
Benefits & Compensation
- Compensation: $35–$50 per hour
