nVent is hiring a Quality Control Technician to join our Houston, TX manufacturing team. In this role, you will be crucial to maintaining flawless execution and our high-quality standards, ensuring every product meets exact specifications.
What You'll Do
- Inspect customer-supplied materials for compliance with legends and drawings.
- Coordinate production checkpoints to ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Record job progression and verify the use of accurate materials.
- Conduct final inspections to confirm all job specifications are met.
- Ensure all procedures are followed and materials are accurately packed and identified for shipment.
- Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of all inspection activities.
- Collaborate with shop supervisors and engineering departments to resolve quality issues and determine corrective actions.
- Support continuous improvement programs and assist in updating quality procedures and work instructions.
What We're Looking For
- A foundation in academia related to quality control, manufacturing, or a similar field.
- Prior background in quality assurance, examination, or a similar manufacturing position.
- Proficiency in reading tape measurements, blueprints, and wiring schematics.
- A basic understanding of OSHA, EPA, and labor law guidelines.
- The ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including standing, walking, and lifting items weighing an average of 20 lbs.
