Amentum is hiring a Quality Control Inspector - Heavy Equipment

About the Role

Amentum is looking for a Quality Control Inspector - Heavy Equipment to maintain the highest standards for our vehicle and equipment fleet. You will perform critical inspections to ensure all maintenance and repairs meet stringent quality and compliance requirements, supporting our commitment to safety and customer satisfaction.

What You'll Do

  • Perform inspections on different classifications of wheeled vehicles and equipment at both unit and DS/GS levels.
  • Conduct initial inspections upon equipment delivery and record data for maintenance work order processing.
  • Troubleshoot identified faults and perform in-process inspections during the repair phase.
  • Conduct final inspections upon completion of maintenance to ensure quality product outputs.
  • Prepare detailed records of inspections and tests for the QA/QC Department.
  • Verify procedures are adequate for quality control, reject defective workmanship and materials, and certify test results.
  • Provide guidance and technical assistance to shop maintenance personnel on inspection principles and quality expectations.
  • Ensure compliance with government and corporate regulations, company SOPs, directives, and technical manuals.
  • Maintain communication with QA and LAR representatives.
  • Coordinate with the Shop Supervisor on technical problems requiring in-depth mechanical knowledge.
  • Cross train as required to maintain flexibility and technical skills.

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of wheeled vehicle maintenance experience.
  • 2 or more years of quality control or inspection experience.
  • Knowledge of diagnostic tools and forms used at the unit and DS/GS level.
  • Ability to read and understand communications and electronic equipment schematics.
  • Thorough knowledge of military technical publications.
  • T1 NACI required for all U.S. Citizens.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.

This position requires full-time, onsite presence.
