Join Southern California Edison in shaping a more reliable and efficient power grid for residential and commercial projects. As a Quality Control / Inspection Specialist, you’ll play a key role by inspecting and approving civil installations based on construction plans and managing projects to completion. You’ll collaborate with a diverse range of customers and stakeholders, making impactful decisions that keep communities powered.
What You’ll Do
- Perform on-site inspections of new residential tract and developer substructure installations.
- Maintain inspection records and review inspector reports.
- Help execute all inspection activities in a timely and efficient manner without sacrificing customer satisfaction.
- Measure and record the location of Edison facilities, account for deviations, and create as-built drawings.
- Communicate status of construction and inspection activities as needed.
- Verify that materials are inspected and maintained in accordance with applicable specifications, codes, standards, and regulatory guides.
- Verify compliance with Edison standards, applicable construction requirements, industry standards, and local governing agency standards.
- Monitor contractor crews for safe, productive, and quality work practices.
- Interface with internal personnel and outside agencies, making decisions in the field that may impact work order closings.
- Manage preconstruction meetings to discuss quality issues with subcontractors and superintendents.
- Ensure warranty corrections are completed and inspect work for safety and quality.
- Create and maintain a safety-conscious work environment by leading and influencing others to follow Edison safety protocols.
- Review, authorize, validate, and track assigned work scopes and scope changes at the field level.
- Coordinate project changes in accordance with work order design and/or department policies with internal and external customers.
- Ensure the protection of all company physical, financial, and cybersecurity assets, and properly access and manage private customer data and proprietary information.
What We’re Looking For
- Three to five years of experience in quality control/inspection.
- A valid Class C Driver’s License.
Nice to Have
- Experience with project management and/or civil construction.
- Experience in customer service and/or customer facing roles.
- Experience in reading and/or interpreting distribution or technical drawings.
- Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

This is a hybrid role based in California.
