The Peace Corps, an independent U.S. agency, is hiring a Psychologist to deliver high-level clinical care for Peace Corps Volunteers managing difficult and complex conditions. In this role, you will coordinate care, consult with staff, and design and lead critical training programs across the agency.
What You'll Do
- Provide direct clinical care for Volunteers using HIPAA-compliant Zoom, phone, or in-person sessions.
- Utilize or develop assessment methodologies and conceptualize and present comprehensive treatment plans.
- Assist with the reintegration of Volunteers at their post or coordinate evacuation to a higher level of care.
- Coordinate direct clinical care through communication within your unit and with Peace Corps Medical Officers.
- Provide expert consultation to Peace Corps Medical Officers and staff on behavioral health concerns.
- Design, conduct, and direct agency-wide training activities, seminars, and workshops.
- Develop and conduct in-depth training workshops for Peace Corps Medical Officers on communication skills, adjustment, crisis management, conflict resolution, and trauma-informed care.
What We're Looking For
- U.S. citizenship and at least 18 years of age.
- Males born after December 31, 1959, must be registered with the Selective Service.
- Ability to successfully complete a Public Trust background investigation.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a medical clearance.
- At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FP-04 or GS-12 level.
- Specialized experience includes managing psychological testing, psychopathology, and therapeutic techniques; analyzing clinical assessments; and applying psychological principles to resolve complex cases.
- For non-clinical/counseling specializations: a major or equivalent in psychology.
- For Clinical Psychology specialization: satisfactory completion of all requirements for a doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology.

This position is part of the Foreign Service. You will coordinate closely with Peace Corps Medical Officers and unit staff to deliver integrated care.
