About the Role
The practitioner will conduct psychiatric evaluations, develop individualized treatment plans, and manage medication regimens for patients across the lifespan, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based care through virtual platforms.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive psychiatric assessments via telehealth
- Diagnose and treat mental health disorders in children, adults, and older adults
- Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications following clinical guidelines
- Develop and update individualized treatment plans based on patient needs
- Monitor patient progress through regular follow-up sessions
- Collaborate with care coordination staff to support patient engagement
- Document clinical encounters in compliance with regulatory standards
- Respond to patient messages and medication refill requests promptly
- Engage in multidisciplinary team discussions for complex cases
- Maintain current knowledge of psychiatric treatment advancements
- Ensure adherence to ethical and confidentiality standards
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Support patient education on mental health conditions and treatments
- Coordinate with external providers when necessary for integrated care
- Conduct risk assessments for suicide, violence, and self-harm
- Provide crisis intervention when urgent clinical needs arise
- Follow state and federal regulations for telepsychiatry practice
- Uphold licensing and certification requirements
- Attend scheduled supervision and training sessions
- Use electronic health record systems efficiently and accurately
- Promote patient autonomy and shared decision-making
- Address social determinants of mental health in treatment planning
- Support continuity of care during transitions
- Respond to clinical emergencies within established protocols
- Maintain professional boundaries in all patient interactions
