The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a Provider Enrollment Coordinator to join our team. This role provides essential support for the Provider Enrollment functions for UAMS Health professional providers. You will coordinate the collection and maintenance of provider information, communicating and working with payer representatives to ensure our providers are enrolled accurately and on time.
What You'll Do
- Review and recommend appropriate staff status levels for applicants, advising relevant departmental administrators.
- Process provider enrollment packets for timely submission to payers.
- Prepare and distribute application packets, maintaining logging systems for tracking.
- Review returned packets for completeness and follow up to obtain missing information.
- Discuss the enrollment process with physicians, providers, and department liaisons as needed.
- Maintain accurate professional provider data in the enrollment and credentialing database.
- Enroll physicians and providers in appropriate reimbursement programs to enable timely billing.
- Coordinate with Professional/Medical Staff Offices and PHOs to maintain consistent provider information.
- Partner with the UAMS Health Contracting department to ensure providers are linked to managed care contracts.
- Correspond with third-party payers regarding enrollment activity and procedures.
- Monitor time-sensitive verifications and expirable documents, following up as needed.
- Respond timely to provider and departmental questions from teams like Professional Billing and Epic IT.
- Maintain professional competency and current understanding of payer enrollment requirements.
- Review reappointment dates for providers to ensure compliance with Departmental Policies.
- Adhere to Departmental confidentiality standards.
- Cross train to support Out of State Medicaid Enrollment and other administrative functions.
- Maintain productive relationships with Physicians, Allied Health Professionals, Department Business Managers, and leadership.
- Participate in continuing education programs offered by UAMS and external providers.
- Accurately enter data into the credentialing and enrollment database.
- Ensure all information in the credentialing and enrollment databases is current and accurate.
- Provide scheduled and requested reports.
- Maintain accurate records of all application statuses.
- Maintain the claim eligibility table in Epic and process enrollment issues in Epic work queues.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor’s degree OR a high school diploma plus 4 years' experience in medical revenue cycle and/or credentialing/enrollment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

You will work closely with Credentialing teams at UAMS and ACH hospitals; Credentialing/Contracting at CHCS PHO/ACCN, COM & Service Line administrators/staff; physicians and other licensed health care providers; governmental payers; insurance companies; and internal teams including Professional Billing Services, Epic IT, Contracting & Finance.
