Kgs is offering a summer internship for a Proposal Editor Intern to join our team remotely. In this role, you will apply and develop your editing skills within the business-to-Government proposal process, from initial information gathering to final proofreading. You will receive training in the complete proposal lifecycle and relevant industry tools.
What You'll Do
- Edit proposal content for grammar, punctuation, spelling, and writing conventions.
- Distill solicitation requirements into opportunity-specific editorial guidance.
- Assist in updating and editing proposal reuse content in a SharePoint-based database.
- Assist the lead staff writer in conducting and taking notes for SME and PM interviews.
- Participate as a writer and/or editor in all stages of the proposal lifecycle.
- Assist in drafting proposal content under the direction of a mentor or lead writer.
- Support other teams and departments according to need and interest.
What We're Looking For
- A skilled line and copy editor.
- Detail-oriented with a desire to excel and learn real-world applications for writing and editing skills.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Proficient with MS Office, specifically MS Word.
- Must be currently pursuing or have recently completed an English, Writing, or writing-intensive Humanities degree.
- Must have 3-12 months of editing experience (e.g., at a university writing center, in writing groups, or freelance).
Nice to Have
- Additional knowledge of Grammarly, SharePoint, and MS Teams.
