Odyssey Group is hiring a Property Underwriter to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating and underwriting property insurance risks, analyzing data to make informed decisions, and ensuring adherence to underwriting guidelines and company standards.
What You'll Do
- Analyze property insurance applications and assess risk factors to determine appropriate coverage and pricing.
- Review and interpret underwriting data, including loss history, financial statements, and property inspections.
- Make informed underwriting decisions in accordance with company guidelines and risk appetite.
- Collaborate with agents, brokers, and internal teams to gather necessary information and explain underwriting decisions.
- Maintain accurate and detailed underwriting files and documentation.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of property underwriting experience.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in underwriting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Nice to Have
- Professional designations such as CPCU, ARM, or AU.
- Experience with complex commercial property risks.
- Knowledge of industry trends and regulatory requirements.
